Hello Everyone!
Something that’s been bothering me is how inconsistent I’ve been with my blog posting schedule. Reflecting on the past year, I realize I’ve often missed my upload dates and I’ve had to either post late or not post at all. It’s obviously not a good thing to be as inconsistent as I’ve been and I think, when I really look back at it, the core reason is because I’ve stretched myself so thin across all the things I have to do. Right now I know I have quite a few things I need to take care of such as editing book 3, redoing the cover arts for books 1 & 2, unfortunately end of the year work to pay the bills, Inktober (which I’m still debating on, can follow that journey on Instagram and Tumblr) and of course maintaining this blog. Because of this, I figured a modified schedule for the remainder of the year might help most.
Rather than a book review every two weeks and an article on the book every other week, I thought I would change it up to something a bit to make things more manageable. For October and November, I’ll be posting one book review at the start of the month, the next week will be an article on the characters of the story, and the post afterwards will be an article on the worldbuilding and setting of the story. Focusing on what I consider to be a core part of writing a story would be more helpful and also allow me to have some breathing room as I finish editing book 3 and take care of everything else. The last week of the month will be an author update to communicate how the book 3 progress is going as well as the updated book covers.
The updated book covers are something I’ve wanted to do for a while now as I recognize the importance of presentation when it comes to putting my work out there. Not just the cover but the title lettering as well. It will be something I need to put some time into for study. I also wanted to go through the books and update anything that doesn’t feel right to the cultures that they are adapted from. There’s some things that aren’t egregious and are fine for a fictional world referencing real life elements, but there are a few things that are incorrect that I feel need to be updated.
As with previous edition updates, I’ll always provide a free copy to anyone who purchased the book before the edition update. You just need to send me an email at RaphaelTheAuthor@gmail.com with a picture of the book. 😊
Thanks for reading!
