Hello everyone!
A little longer than I intended, but the final draft for book 3 is finally done! I had to rewrite a few key points to make sure it had proper flow to the story and ended in a way I felt was satisfying. I’m rather happy with how the story’s changed and how it fits in the overall series. The title of the book has changed as well. Instead of The Legend of Nariko: Hellfire Rising the book is now called The Legend of Nariko: Shadows of a Dead World. My editor is currently working through the book, checking for any grammar mistakes, continuity errors, or anything that might need some adjustment. He should be done by the fall so we’re currently looking at a November or December release. Admittedly it’s later than I had hoped but that’s entirely fault for dragging my heels so much so I do apologize for that. In the meantime, I have started writing book 4 which I’m hoping I can publish much faster than book 3.
Also I took some time to redo the book covers for the new editions of books 1 and 2. I wanted to have the covers give a more appropriate representation of the books, especially that I feel that I’ve improved quite a bit as an artist. Need to do my books justice.
I still want to redo the map to make it a bit clearer and cleaner. Some of the names may change though it would only be ones not named in the book so far. Also will be going through and changing a few things up to be more appropriate with the cultural inspirations. In a sense, this is almost a soft reboot of the series as I want to make this the best it can be. This is becoming my life’s work at this point so I might as well put all I can into it.
As always, for anyone whose purchased a previous copy of the book, you can email me at RaphaelTheAuthor@gmail.com with a picture of the older book edition book and I’ll happily send a new copy to you.
I’m also working on a side project. It’s a bit of a slice of life, silly, and wholesome (ish) manga. I have no timeline on it yet as the focus is on The Legend of Nariko series for now but I do hope to put some time towards it.
Thanks for your patience and sticking with me! 😊
– Raphael
