Hello everyone!
It’s been a chaotic month of editing my third book and planning out my fourth book. My editor and I have been going back and forth over notes and considerations so there’s been some revisions but nothing dramatic. Book 3 will still be on track to publish around November hopefully so long as nothing goes wrong. While editing book 3, I’ve also been working on planning out and writing my fourth book as well. The hope is that I can be a lot faster with my third book so I can publish books in a one and a half to two year timeframe rather than this three or four year timeframe I’ve been stuck in.
A bit on a personal note, I’ve been finding a lot more satisfaction from learning and progressing in personal goals. There’s been a lot of progress I’ve made when it comes to getting better as an artist and that’s been fantastic, but I recognize that I need to put more planning and effort into promoting and spreading my books to new readers. To that end, I really need to get those new editions finally done. A big problem with that is, once again, I became rather dissatisfied with how my second book cover turned out so I wanted redo it once again. However, rather than bash my head against it repeatedly like I’ve been doing unsuccessfully, I took an art course in July to focus on improving my colouring and composition. It’s definitely helped me to get a lot faster so I’m hoping it won’t take me long to create a new cover. The goal is to have the new editions ready by sometime in the fall probably before book 3 is released.
Now that’s a lot of stuff I’m working on and considering we’re about to enter August (which is insane by the way, where did the time go?!) I need to improve my time management. Something I’m going to be doing for the next two or three months is changing my schedule per month to one book review and then two subsequent articles about writing topics related to that book. It’s also something I want to experiment with as I’ve noticed the articles on writing do tend to have better reception than the book reviews alone. I don’t want to abandon book reviews though as I genuinely love reading, but with how much I need to get done I don’t I can do two book reviews a month and accomplish all the book related goals.
