Author Update: Tiring August but Promising Progress

Hello Everyone!

I have to admit, summer is one of the hardest months to stay productive. I find some days get way too hot to be able to focus. That being said, I still managed to get some work done on the projects I’m working on. Luckily I was able to figure out how to resolve some critical plot points that were running into problems for book 4 of The Legend of Nariko series. The last thing I want to do is make my characters do something they wouldn’t do just to force them into a narrative that is inconsistent with their characterization. Now the current outline feels more in character with the various characters, putting them in difficult situations which I’m hoping makes for a stronger story overall. I’m still aiming to finish the first draft by the end of the year, ambitious as it may sound.

Something I didn’t expect was how much fun I’m having with the worldbuilding of Kaguya: The Wayfarer Chronicles. Anyone familiar with The Legend of Nariko series knows that is a darker and somewhat more grounded fantasy world that I had built. But because Kaguya: The Wayfarer Chronicles is more of a whimsical fantasy adventure manga with some serious moments, it’s allowing me to explore a more fun and whimsical way to build a world and tell a story. I’m honestly quite excited to keep working on it. Still, the pacing is a bit of a weird thing to wrap my head around so I feel once I get past that, it should be a lot smoother. I’m still figuring out a timeline for this and what a good release schedule for this would be as I would also like to publish it online for people to read before publishing it as a print book as well.

As always, thanks for reading my blog and my works and I hope your autumn season is a wonderful one! (It’s my favorite season!)
