Hello Everyone!
I realized the title is a rather bit ominous, but it’s actually good news in a sense. First I want to apologize for not posting last week. Last week was actually my first week at my new job (hooray!) and I had a rather chaotic week preceding that to prepare for my new work and get a lot of progress done on my book and manga before work started. Luckily the week went well and hopefully I’ll be working here for quite a while.
That being said, the structure of this blog has suffered and been inconsistent for pretty much this entire year which is unacceptable really. Part of letting this fail has also harmed my ability to write consistently and meaningfully. I know that for myself, reading more stories always helps me to get into the writing mindset and writing the reviews gets me thinking about how stories and characters are constructed. Without that, my ability to think and write better stories diminishes significantly.
With that, I do want to get back to doing regularly scheduled book reviews and writing musings again, but I also recognize that I might not have as much time now that I’m working while writing a book and a manga. I think for now I might try and do one book review a month for the time being until I can get used to me new routine. I’m hoping I can get back to a regular schedule of two book reviews a month like last year, but I want to temper my own expectations.
It is nice to have a regular schedule again. It makes me value my free time and allow me to actually use that time effectively rather than wasting a lot of time as I did when I was unemployed. It’s hard to explain but there was a lack of motivation I had despite having so much time to just sit down and work on it. It feels almost paradoxical to say that the less free time I had, the more productive I am.
I’m hoping to be more consistent and provide some helpful insight going forward.
