Hello everyone!
November was quite a productive, if a bit exhausting, month where I did manage to make a lot of progress on the stories I’m working on. The manga I’m working on has been especially interesting to work on. I’ve been learning about the various methods of script writing and storyboarding, trying to figure out which feels the most natural for me to as someone whose more used to writing than drawing out their stories. I was truly surprised how different the process of storywriting was and felt like it’s a pretty interesting challenge.
That being said, another challenge came to mind recently that I thought might be interesting to see how much of an affect it actually has on my life. I read somewhere that short form content viewed repeatedly can have an adverse effect on cognitive function and memory. Lately I’ve been feeling my own memory and thoughts struggling a bit more this year. Anyone whose followed this blog also knows I’ve been struggling to keep a consistent upload schedule. I thought I’d try what’s referred to as a social media detox to an extent. Specifically, I was thinking attempting to do a full month of no YouTube in an attempt to be more cognitively aware of what I’m doing and hopefully focus more on what I need to do for my storywriting.
There’s a lot I want to do and a lot I want to improve upon. I have a manga to write and draw, a book series to write, books to read, and art pieces to create. I realize now, especially working full time in an office, that time is very limited and I need to dedicate more time to the things that are important to me and make me feel happy and fulfilled.
2025 has been a rather difficult year, but hopefully this last month will be better.
Lets close out the year on a good note!
– Raphael
