This year has been a bit of a roller coaster of ups and downs. I set a lot of goals for myself to further both my writing and my artistic passions, however I haven’t quite lived up to my own expectations. I took some time to consider why this was and a lot of it could be contributed to the lack of self care I had put myself through. I stopped exercising regularly, started eating more and more unhealthy foods, haven’t been sleeping well, and drinking copious amounts of coffee in an unhealthy manner to make up for the lack of energy.
Even though I used to live a fairly healthy lifestyle, I underestimated just how much of an impact those healthier actions had on my ability to focus and maintain a disciplined work schedule. These seemingly small things added up to destroy my ability to focus and deliver good content as well as complete my own goals in life. Looking back now that we’re 2/3 of the way through 2021 (a terrifying thought really), I have a lot to do to catch up to my own goals for the year.
I’m going to be taking a one month break to re-orient my life and hopefully fix my waning discipline and health. The fact that I’ve gotten older and just collapsed my healthy lifestyle and habits is not a good combination and the fact that it’s started to affect both my physical health and my mental health is gravely concerning. My hope is to return by September 13th with both a healthier body and mind to be able to consistently put out good work and achieve my own personal goals.
