Hello Everyone!
Sorry for the delayed post. I said I would return at the start of November and I’m late by a week. Unfortunately the past two weeks have been quite difficult as I ended up getting laid off from work basically the second day I was back. I wanted to be a bit candid about it as it does affect how the current publishing schedule is. Advertising is a big part of how I’m able to get my book out there and I’ve seen the difference between having it and not having it, especially during the holiday season, makes a huge difference. Losing my job has also taken a bit of a toll on my ability to focus so trying to rebuild that has slowed me down considerably.
Publishing my third book, The Legend of Nariko: Shadows of a Dead World, is still on track for late November or early December and I’m hoping to stay on track with that. My editor is working quite hard to push through and I don’t want to let him down. That being said, the proof copies will likely be what slows things down. The new editions of books one and two, The Mark of Silverfrost and The Goddess Prophecy, have been a bit delayed as book one’s cover printed out perfectly but book two is a bit off center so I’ll need to get new print proofs once the revised map is also completed. I still plan to send free copies to anyone who had previously purchased one of my books if they request it, though with what’s happened it might be slowed down when those will go out.
While I was off on vacation, I did brainstorm some more ideas for that new series set in a science fiction setting. Surprisingly, I did quite like how it’s turning out so far and the possible avenues the story could take, however I’m still trying to determine the overall feel I want that story to have. I’m not sure when that will be published but it is something I will be working on in the background.
The art print side project I spoke of before I might be able to dedicate a bit more time to after the three books are published and out. It’s a bit of a educational project that might help me understand advertising better while potentially also providing some extra funds to advertise the books I’m publishing. I’m still working on improving as both and artist and a writer in hopes that the two passions can benefit one another.
Things are a bit rough right now, but hoping to get things back on track. 😊
